Elephant welfare
The elphants you will care for on this tour live in a small elephant camp beside the Mae Tang River. Blugecko believe the elephant owners provide a good standard of elephant welfare but please note the following:

• On numerous inspection trips we have never seen a bull hook or a bull hook being used by the elephant owners, however the owner does inform us a bull hook is kept to hand for emergency use only to ensure the safety of the client
• No riding is done on the elephants here however clients are allowed to climb upon the elephants backs during the bathing session in the river and clients are allowed to sit up on the elephants neck briefly.

if you have any further questions on the elephant welfare on this trip please ask us.
