TOUR DESCRIPTION
The Elephant nature park does not adhere to a rigid itinerary for its two day programme but two days will give you plenty of time to get to know these lovely large animals a whole lot better! Over the 2 days at the park you will have a introduction about the elephants in the park and how elephants are used in the tourist industry in Thailand. At some e point you will be taking the elephants down to the river for their bath time (one of the elephants favorite parts of the day) . You will be able to take your time with the elephants and get to know them while spending the two days at the main Elephant Nature Park venue which is nestled by the river in the Mae tang area. You will of course be provided with all meals and simple but comfortable accommodation in wood and bamboo bungalows at the Nature Park. |
ITINERARY
Day 1
• Start at your Chiang Mai hotel - 8:00am
• Proceed to Mae Tang area
• Arrival at Nature Park
• Introduction to the Asian Elephant
• Elephant feeding session
• Lunch
• Walk elephants to the river
• Scrub and bathe elephants in Mae Tang River
• Evening meal

Groups
This tour is conducted as a group tour to depart we need a minimum of 1 persons booked on the tour. On a group tour you will join a group with others.
Transport
Group tours - transport will be a modern comfortable air-conditioned minibus
Transfer
This tour includes transfer to and from your Chiang Mai hotel. Please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel before the pick up time specified on your booking confirmation.
Please specify your hotel and its address on the booking form. If you do not have a hotel booked we can still process your booking but please inform us of your hotel at least 3 days prior to departure.
Please note that this tour can pick up from city hotels only
and can not pick up from resorts outside the city.
Accommodation
This is a 2 day tour and 1 night's trip and The elephant Nature Park will provide simple but comfortable accommodation in their on-site bungalows.
Guides
This tour is conducted with an English speaking guide. The guides will be TAT licensed (Tourist Authority of Thailand)
Insurance
A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance.
Elephant welfare
The elephants residing at The Elephant Nature Park have some of the best living conditions of any elephant camp in the north of Thailand
• The Elephant Nature park do not allow riding (including bareback) and report that they do not use the bull hook to control their elephants
Dress Codes and what to wear
• The Northern Thailand climate is hot all year round. Wear light, cool clothes: Shorts (or long pants if you prefer), T shirt and a sun hat are ideal attire, also bring a change of clothes you will be happy to get wet in as you will be bathing with the elephants
Fitness
Exertion levels are light on this tour with a few short walks required.
Meals
This is a full day tour and lunch is provided. Vegetarians can be catered for
Tipping
There is no compulsory tipping. Tipping is at your own discretion and choice, but if you felt that you were served by the guide and driver well during your trip any extra income is gratefully received.
