Leave to hustle and bustle of the city and embark on an unforgettable elephant adventure. A great day in nature where you will get up-close and personal to these amazing animals!

TOUR DESCRIPTION


Be prepared for an activity packed day with elephants at Patara Elephant Farm the day will start with pick up from your Chiang Mai accommodation and you will make the 30 minute drive to the Pattara Elephant Farm. The days activities will start with a short trek into the Jungle to find the elephant heard. You will then get the chance to help feed and bath the elephants. The Patara staff will then give you plenty of background information on the farm as well as proper care for the elephants they will also instruct you on the techniques and commands required for bareback riding of the elephants. You will then get the chance to jump on the elephants and practice your riding techniques before setting off with the elephants into the hills. Lunch will be take with the elephants at a small waterfall here you will be able to bath with your elephant. Following lunch it will be time to make your way down the hill where you will feed the elephants in the late afternoon before being transferred back to your Chiang Mai hotel.

Groups
This tour is conducted as a group tour to depart we need a minimum of 1 persons booked on the tour. On a group tour you will join a group with others.

Transport
Group tours - transport will be a modern comfortable air-conditioned minibus

Transfer
This tour includes transfer to and from your Chiang Mai hotel. Please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel before the pick up time specified on your booking confirmation. Please specify your hotel and its address on the booking form. If you do not have a hotel booked we can still process your booking but please inform us of your hotel at least 3 days prior to departure.

Please note that this tour can pick up from city hotels only and can not pick up from resorts outside the city.

Accommodation
This is a full day tour and no accommodation is provided. Blugecko can arrange your Chiang Mai hotel if required

Guides
This tour is conducted with an English speaking guide. The guides will be TAT licensed (Tourist Authority of Thailand)

Insurance
A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance.

Elephant welfare
The elphants reside in Baan Chang's own elephant park in the Mae Tang area Blugecko believe the elephant owners provide a good standard of elephant welfare but please note the following:

• The Baan Chang operators believe that a bull hook is required for appropriate control of the elephant and to ensure the clients safety safety .
• Some bareback riding is allowed - no riding apparatus or seats are used

Please be aware and understand the above if you are uncomfortable with any use of the bull hook then please do not do not book this tour
if you have any further questions on the elephant welfare on this trip please ask us.

Dress Codes and what to wear
The Northern Thailand climate is hot all year round. Wear light, cool clothes: Shorts (or long pants if you prefer), T shirt and a sun hat are ideal attire, also bring a change of clothes you will be happy to get wet in as you will be bathing with the elephants

Fitness
Exertion levels are medium on this tour you will be required to walk in the forest with the elephants

Meals
This is a full day tour and lunch is provided. Vegetarians can be catered for

Tipping
There is no compulsory tipping. Tipping is at your own discretion and choice, but if you felt that you were served by the guide and driver well during your trip any extra income is gratefully received.
