TOUR OVERVIEW

Experience trekking, biking as well as hill tribe villages during this two day trip in the hills outside Chiang Mai. Also enjoy an unforgettable overnight in Tree House Village in Mae Mae Shan Village.

TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1
On departure from Chiang Mai we will head north towards Chiang Dao. We will make a stop at a local market where the guide will stock up on food supplies for the trek. As Doi Chiang Dao (Thailand,s third highest mountain) comes into view we will turn off the main highway and make our way up to the hills to the trek start point. The trek will start along tracks well trodden by the feet of local hill tribes and villages and we will make our way to a small waterfall which will make a great refreshing break from the trekking and a chance to shower under the cool waters. The trekking will continue onto our overnight destination which is a small Shan village high up in the hills. Here we will spend a night at the wonderfully unique Tree House Village. The local Shan villages will prepare your evening meal (feel free to get involved!) and the evening will be free to take it easy and relax after the days trek.

Overnight - Tree House Village

Day 2
After breakfast at Tree House Village we will pay a visit to the local village school (term time only) The school teaches children from a variety of ethnic and hill tribe groups. After the school visit we will commence the morning's trek continuing through the thick pristine forests that this area has to offer. Trekking will continue to the pick up point and the waiting transport. We will take a short drive to our lunch venue before starting the biking on the fertile Ping River flood plain. The biking route will take us through some through some lovely rural scenery including rice paddies, fruit orchards and small villages we will finish the biking near Sri Lanna National Park and then pay a visit the the large sprawling Banden Temple complex before transferring you back to your Chiang Mai hotel.
