TOUR OVERVIEW
Spend a day in the Chiang Dao area trekking in the hills to a Shan Village and biking on the fertile flood plain of the Ping River. |
TOUR DESCRIPTION
After pick up at your Chiang Mai hotel we will make our way north out of the city towards the town of Chiang Dao. As Chiang Dao Mountain comes into sight we will turn off the main highway where the narrow road will start to wind its way up in to the hills. We will soon reach the jumping off point for the mornings trek. The trekking will commence in thick pristine forest. Be prepared for some exertion as most of the mornings trekking will be up hill. On route we will stop by for a refreshing shower at a small waterfall then on to Mae Mae Shan Village where we will take a well earned lunch at Tree House Village. After lunch you will board the transport again for the short drive to the cycle starting point. The afternoon will be spent biking some of the small roads and trails on the flat Ping River flood plain, the route will take you through some very pretty rural scenes and small villages. Our final destination of the day will be Banden Temple before boarding the transport again for drive back to Chiang Mai and transfer back to you hotel. |

Groups
This tour is conducted as a privately escorted tour only you will be supplied with your own tour guide and private vehicle . Sorry there are no group departures for this programme.
Transport
Transport will be by covered and seated pick up, you will be provided with your own transport just for your group
Transfer
This tour includes transfer to and from your Chiang Mai hotel. Please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel before the pick up time specified on your booking confirmation.
Please specify your hotel and its address on the booking form. If you do not have a hotel booked we can still process your booking but please inform us of your hotel at least 3 days prior to departure. For private tours we can arrange transfers to and from all hotels (an extra charge will usually be incurred for outlying hotels). If there are any issues with your specified hotel we will inform you before we ask for payment and process your booking.
Accommodation
This is a full day tour and no accommodation is provided. Blugecko can arrange your bangkok hotel if required
Guides
This tour is conducted with an English speaking trekking guide. The guides will be TAT licensed (Tourist Authority of Thailand)
Insurance
A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance.
Dress Codes and what to wear
• The Northern Thailand climate is hot all year round. Wear light, cool clothes: Shorts (or long pants if you prefer), T shirt and a sun hat are ideal attire.
• Please be prepared for the occasional shower, luckily in Chiang Mai rainfall is mostly confined to short showers rather than prolonged rainfall. A lightweight easily packable raincoat is an ideal precaution
• There is also an option to swim at the waterfall so you may want to bring your swim suit
Fitness
Exertion levels are high on this tour there will be around 3-5 hours of trekking each day up and down rough tracks in a hot climate spread out over 3 days
Meals
This is a full day tour and lunch is provided. Vegetarians can be catered f
Tipping
There is no compulsory tipping. Tipping is at your own discretion and choice, but if you felt that you were served by the guide and driver well during your trip any extra income is gratefully received..
