TOUR OVERVIEW


A great alternative to direct transport between Chiang Mai and Bangkok. On this two day tour you will see many of the cities and sites central Thailand has to offer. Highlights include Sukhothai and Ayutthaya as well as other less visited cities such as Lampang and Phitsanulok.

TOUR DESCRIPTION


Day 1
You will be picked up from your Chiang Mai hotel and we will commence the two day trip to Bangkok by traveling south towards the city of Lampang In Lampang we will make our first stop of the day at Wat Chedi Lampang Luang one of Lampang's most important temples. We will continue the journey towards Sukhothai, on arrival we will spend the rest of the day visiting the old temples at Sukhothai Historical Park. late afternoon we will depart for the short journey to the city of Phitsanulok where you will spend the night. To fill the evening we recommend a trip to the Phitsanulok night market situated nearby the river.

Day 2
Y ou will be picked up from your Phitsanulok hotel and we will visit Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat  and a small Buddha casting foundry where you can see the manufacture of metal Buddha images. We will continue the drive for around 3 and a half hours to the city of Ayutthaya, Siam's old capital city, here you will spend the rest of the day exploring many of the old temple buildings and city remnents Late afternoon we will depart Ayutthaya for the 1 hour drive to Bangkok where we will transfer you directly to your chosen bangkok hotel.

Groups
This tour is conducted as a privately escorted tour only, you will be supplied with your own tour guide and private vehicle . Sorry there are no group departures for this programme.

Transport
Private tours - for 1-2 persons transport will be a modern comfortable air-conditioned car or minibus
Private tours - for 3-13 persons transport will be a modern comfortable air-conditioned minibus

Transfer
This tour includes pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel and drop off at your Bangkok hotel. Please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel before the pick up time specified on your booking confirmation. Please specify your hotel and its address on the booking form. If you do not have a hotel booked we can still process your booking but please inform us of your hotel at least 3 days prior to departure. For private tours we can arrange transfers to and from all hotels (an extra charge will usually be incurred for outlying hotels). If there are any issues with your specified hotel we will inform you before we ask for payment and process your booking.

Accommodation
No accommodation is included in the above package tour, You are free to make your own arrangements or we can arrange accommodation for you with one of our contracted hotels.

Guides
This tour is conducted with an English speaking guide. The guides will be TAT licensed (Tourist Authority of Thailand)

Insurance
A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance.
Dress Codes and what to wear

• The Northern and Central Thailand climate is hot all year round. Wear light, cool clothes: Shorts (or long pants if you prefer), T shirt and a sun hat are ideal attire.

• On this tour you will be visiting Buddhist temples, respectful and neat dress is always appreciated at temples, please wear knee length shorts and a shirt which covers your shoulders

• Please be prepared for the occasional shower, luckily rainfall is mostly confined to short showers rather than prolonged rainfall. A lightweight easily packable raincoat is an ideal precaution

• No swim wear is required on this tour

Fitness
Exertion levels are light on this two day tour with a few short walks between attractions. There are steps and slopes
